AEML to hold camps for consumers

MUMBAI: A day after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered a probe into complaints of excessive billing by Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML), the company on Sunday said it will set up camps to address consumers’ queries from December 1 to 15.

“We are concerned with the rising perception… around rising charges in electricity, we urge our customers to… contact us with queries,” an AEML spokesperson said. In a statement, AEML said “climatic changes” in October and November in the city had changed consumption patterns. Besides, the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has set a higher tariff slab for higher consumption for all distribution companies, it said.

The camps will be set up in Kandivali, Bhayander, Bandra, Chembur, Goregaon, Andheri MIDC, Andheri (West) and Sakinaka. Consumers have been asked to carry their electricity bills with them. AEML has also opened a 24-hour helpline (19122) in Marathi, Hindi, English, Gujarati along with email support through billsupport.aeml@adani.com or direct message through their social media handle, which AEML said it would respond to within 24 hours.
