Reader-first purpose
Content should answer a real reader question, explain why the details matter and help readers identify practical next steps. We prefer clear language, useful examples and relevant checklists over exaggerated claims, filler or unnecessary jargon.
Research and sources
Writers should prefer primary documents, official guidance, product documentation and reputable sources. Claims that may change over time should be checked against a current source and, where useful, accompanied by a link and the date checked. Sources should support the specific claim being made; an external link should not be added merely to make an article appear authoritative.
Accuracy and review
Before publication, content should be checked for clarity, factual consistency, dates, spelling, working links and whether important limitations are explained. Where a writer has not personally tested a product or service, the article must not imply first-hand testing or experience. We should distinguish confirmed facts from estimates, examples and general suggestions.
Updates and corrections
Older articles should be reviewed when a relevant policy, fee, specification, procedure or official source changes. Material errors should be corrected as soon as reasonably possible. Readers can report an issue through the Contact page; including the article URL, the sentence in question and a reliable supporting source helps us review it.
Authorship and accountability
Article bylines identify the author name used for that guide. Authors and editors are expected to take reasonable care with research and explanations. A byline is not a claim that the writer is a lawyer, financial adviser, laboratory tester or other licensed professional unless that qualification is separately and accurately stated.
Independence and commercial relationships
Advertising and commercial relationships should not be presented as independent editorial endorsement. Sponsored material, affiliate links, gifted products or other material connections must be disclosed where relevant. Commercial considerations should not justify knowingly inaccurate claims or the concealment of important product limitations.
Images and originality
Images, graphics and examples should be relevant to the subject and used with appropriate rights or permission. Illustrations should not be presented as genuine product tests or documentary evidence when they are not. Articles should offer original explanation and value rather than copying another publisherβs work.
Respectful and responsible content
We aim to avoid misleading headlines, unsupported allegations, discriminatory language and instructions that could put readers at unnecessary risk. Consumer complaints and scam topics should be handled carefully, with readers encouraged to verify identities and use official channels.
